Prepare the cleanup before inviting people

  • Connect the event to the correct TidyTown project.
  • Choose realistic start and end times plus an easy-to-understand meeting point.
  • List ordinary materials and confirm that the activity does not ask volunteers to handle hazardous waste.

Traffic, dangerous water, unstable structures, sharps, chemicals, medical waste and contaminated materials are not ordinary volunteer-cleanup tasks.

STEP 3 · FOLLOW THROUGH

A plan becomes useful when people can act on it

Once the event is ready for participation, volunteers need a clear place, time, task and safety expectation. Public signup should only be encouraged for activities that are appropriate for community participation.
